R2

A WNW F4 with a changing tide. Richard and Margaret rounded the platform first with Trevor and Ann just below and the fleet close behind. A Stakes Trevor rounded first and headed into the still ebbing tide with the rest close behind. Richard and Mark headed to the shallows and Nick went North and got to the Leeward mark first. Trevor pulled away up the beat and rounded the windward mark as the tide began to turn. RIchard and Mark had a good tussle to the finish. Great sailing conditions in a late summer.

R3

A perfect F3/4 with negligible tide. Victoria Brooks came to crew for Richard and this team stormed away from the start to extend their lead throughout the race.

R4

A SW 3/4 with a strong flood tide made for a very interesting tussle with Vistoria Brooks once again crewing for Richard. The 2 boats were neck and neck around the course with the Smiths pulling away up the beat but Richard gaining the advantage off wind. By the last leeward mark Trevor was leading by 3 boat lengths but a vrey rare bungled covering tack left him spinning before the line allowing Richard to finish ahead by a second!
